Bouncing back

My defeat from yesterday has been on my mind several times during the day today. Especially the thoughts about the opening, where I switched away from the London. I think mainly it is a sign of wanting to learn new things in chess. Therefore, I will try to learn some new openings to get inspiration and learn new skills. Today I played a 30+0 game and opened d4 c4 for the first time in a long game in ages.

White to move (variation). Solution in the annotations

I was already on virgin territory after move two! The opening was called ‘Queen’s Gambit Accepted: Central Variation, McDonnell Defense’. But I guess it is like that when you try a new opening.

I have found an interesting model game in this opening played by Topalov that shows how to play the opening well.
