How to Exploit a Weakness in the Opening – Alekhine vs. Dus Chotimirsky

I’m moving on with Alekhine’s ‘My Best Games of Chess’. Now at game no. 8 which is a game against Fyodor Ivanovich Dus Chotimirsky. The game was played in the 1911 Carlsbad tournament.

Fyodor Ivanovich Dus Chotimirsky (1923)

Dus Chotimirsky had won an interesting game against Lasker 3 years earlier. He was thus a strong player and four-time winner of the Kyiv championship (1900, 1902, 1903, and 1906).

In the game against Alekhine however, Alekhine made him look like a happy amateur. Here are my notes on the game followed by a YouTube video focused on how Alekhine exploited the move f6 by Dus Chotimirsky.
